The trials were, at the time, the nation’s biggest and richest of their kind.
The 1992 competition had attracted a pleasing 328 entries.
In front of a large crowd, the farmers' category event had been decided, with John McCrum’s canine Tige coming out on top with a leading 74 points.
Andrew Paton, pictured, was the youngest competitor in the farmers’ category for that year.
The Commonwealth Sheepdog Trials were held in Koroit until 2005, before moving to Gardens Oval Port Fairy in 2006.
A Koroit-based event, the Koroit Sheepdog Trials, resumed in 2011.
