The Bulls have lost both their matches in 2017, despite having a strong line-up at their disposal.
“We’ve dropped the first two games after Christmas, which were quite winnable against sides around us (on the ladder),” he said.
“We’ve got numbers back, it just hasn’t seemed to click for us.”
Hillman said Pomborneit’s bowling needed work but its batting “seems to have turned the corner”, with Craig Sargeant and Steven Castle featuring prominently in the runs the past two weeks.
Hillman also made an unbeaten 44 coming in at number 10 a fortnight ago.
In other matches, Bookaar faces an uphill battle to strengthen its spot in the top four when it tavels to take on Mortlake, while Terang hosts Noorat. Heytesbury Rebels has a bye.
