Matt Hardiman again had a strong weekend, finishing third in the under 19 board at Manly and forming part of the silver medal-winning under 19 board relay team with Paddy Carr and Paddy O’Brien.
The relay team again finished second at Freshwater Beach on Sunday, as did the 17 and under board team of O’Brien, Brayden Casamento and Harry McNamara.
Emma Ragg made a stirring comeback in the under 15 board on Sunday after a rough day at Manly, finish third.
“In the final, Emma used her initiative and went out next to the rocks running behind the field of 16 other paddlers to get a better run out to the buoys,” Warrnambool SLSC coach Stepher Kerr said.
“The move was risky, (but) ultimately it paid off, finishing in third position in a sprint up the beach for positions one through to four.”
Kerr said the club was “really rapt” with the results and the number of finals the group made.
The club will compete at Ocean Grove this Saturday for another Round of the Victorian Surf League Series.
