Warrnambool triathlete Andy Ryan enjoyed ultimate success in the men’s category, while Sarah Edgar crossed the line as the first female.
Event organiser Ian Barnes said it was important for the club to offer a number of sports to cater for the interests of participants.
“Different people like different events. Some people like it without the bike and some like the swim more so,” he said. “The water was nice and warm and the conditions were absolutely beautiful (on Friday). We had a few new faces and some old faces returning which was great.”

Barnes said the club was turning its focus to the upcoming foreshore triathlon in February.
“The aquathon was probably a good lead up event for a few of the people planning to take on the foreshore triahtlon, with it being our big event for the year,” he said.
The foreshore triathlon will take place on February 12 at 8am. Visit triclub.azurewebsites.net for more information.
