Dodging Bullets, a second placegetter at his last run in the Koroit Cup, lines up in the $100,000 Swettenham Stud Summer Championship over 1700 metres, while Royal Applause runs in a $80,000 fillies and mares race.
Wilde said both horses were unlucky at their last starts.
“We tried to win the Koroit Cup with Dodging Bullets in the stewards room after the race,” Wilde said.
“I thought with an ounce of luck Dodging Bullets would have won the cup. His best efforts have been in races at Warrnambool, but I’ve worked out Dodging Bullets really sweats up when he has to travel away.
“I just hope it's not too hot when we make the trip on Thursday.”
Royal Applause has run second in her last four starts and Wilde is hoping the four-year-old can go one better in the 2000-metre race.
“She's been a very consistent mare,” he said.
“Royal Applause has been beaten by a few handy types at her last few runs. She deserves a win.
“We’re really lucky to have secured the services of Craig to ride both horses.”
Darren Weir’s Warrnambool stable has numerous runners at the meeting including Lucky Paddy, who won the Woodford Cup before a fourth-placing in the Koroit Cup at his last start.
Warrnambool trainer Matthew Williams accepted with the last-start Camperdown Cup winner Our Bottino in the race against Dodging Bullets and Lucky Paddy. Ciaron Maher saddles up Kapour in the same race.
