On Saturday night, Jan Mackie was 50 minutes late home to Warrnambool because her 7pm train from Melbourne was delayed with no explanation.

Her train into the city early Saturday morning had been significantly delayed as well.
Ms Mackie, 66, said the experience left her exhausted and angry, but she knows her story is not unique.
“It’s dreadful, it’s just deteriorated so much,” she said.
“I think that we’ve been forgotten.”
Ms Mackie said she had a lot of friends in Melbourne, but she would no longer encourage them to catch the train to visit.
Warrnambool-line passengers have been facing constant delays in recent weeks, with just 15.4 per cent of trains arriving on time in December.
South West Coast MP Roma Britnell also said the 1pm Melbourne to Warrnambool Saturday train ran at least 50 minutes late.
