Former Nirranda juniors Brayden Harkness, Robbie Gregg and Luke Weel have re-joined the Blues for the upcoming season.
Harkness, who will link up with the Blues as an assistant coach after a number of years in Melbourne’s east with Wantirna South, is expected to slot in as a valuable half-back.
Gregg, meanwhile, made his name as a decorated small forward for both South Warrnambool and North Warrnambool Eagles in the Hampden league, while Weel will land as a dangerous utility from Simpson in the Colac and District Football League.
Nirranda coach Shane Threlfall said Harkness would assume hands-on duties as an assistant.
“He’s (Harkness) proven to have some good ideas already and his input will be fantastic,” Threlfall said.
“We’ve picked up a few players in Robbie and Luke but I think we’ll lose some too. We’re still chasing a few as well.”
Threlfall said each of the signings would only cost the club one point under AFL Western District’s new players points system.
