Warrnambool’s Tommy Jackson (43), Bailey Jenkinson (45) and Dom Bandara (45) ensured the Waves put on the most consistent batting performance of the tournament to chase down Central Highlands’ total of 202 on Thursday.
Jackson was again the star, blasting six boundaries to kick-start the Waves into gear while Jenkinson and Bandara provided stability through the middle order.
At Bendigo Country Week, Grassmere suffered its third defeat of the week, falling to Red Cliffs by five wickets.
Grassmere team manager Norm Gibson said while the week hadn’t yielded results on field, the aim to blood youngsters had been deemed successful.
“There are probably five guys in our side that are 18, 19, 20 or 21. That all bodes well for the future. We hope the younger guys will be coming up here with us for the next 10 years,” he said.
