The Moyneyana Festival initiative attracted a crowd of hundreds and proved a unique way to acknowledge the four-legged members of the family.
Showbags, treats and pet-friendly prizes were awarded to the best pets.
Forty entrants competed in 10 different categories with a king and queen crowned and one overall winner.
King of the day was ‘Sam’ the border-collie from Cobden with ‘Tia’ from Port Fairy taking home queen honours.
Overall winner was ‘Sid’ a German short-haired pointer from Port Fairy.
Organisers were thrilled with the support for the event and hoped it would continue to grow next year.
“The turnout was unbelievable,” Sue Flaherty said. “Its a great opportunity to teach respectful pet ownership, especially to kids.”
