Police applied to remand Bianca Louise Johnson, 29, also known as Roberts, of Dunbar Court, in custody after a drug screen test returned positive to ice, ecstasy and cannabis.

She will appear in Hamilton Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a consolidated plea hearing on four police briefs of evidence.

Police said they arrested Ms Johnson on June 9 last year and charged with possessing ice and cannabis.

She was released on bail.

On August 29 Ms Johnson was arrested again and charged with trafficking ice and cannabis and breaching her bail conditions.

Then in early December Ms Johnson was charged again with trafficking ice, possessing cannabis and handling stolen goods.

She was released on bail with the conditions, including that she report each day to the Hamilton police station, she had to live with her mother-in-law, obey an overnight curfew and not use drugs.

When she reported at the Hamilton police station on December 15 she was requested to provide a drug screening test result.

The next day test results were not provided to police and officers believed she returned a positive screen.

On January 13 Hamilton police formally requested Ms Johnson provide a drug test.

At 4.10pm on that day she did a test at Hamilton hospital which returned a strong positive result for ice, ecstasy and cannabis.

She said she had smoked cannabis the previous day. 

Police opposed bail saying it was clear Ms Johnson was still using drugs and they believed she was a drug addict.

Officers said Ms Johnson’s mother-in-law no longer wanted her to live in the home.

Ms Johnson admitted prior offending but refuted that her mother-in-law had kicked her out.

She agreed she had tested positive to drug use but said she had now learnt her lesson.

Magistrate Cynthia Toose refused bail saying Ms Johnson was scheduled to appear in Hamilton court on Wednesday for a guilty plea to charges.
