The former Nestles paceman claimed three wickets in his debut with Melbourne Cricket Club’s first XI on Saturday.
He teamed with fellow Warrnambool export Paddy Smith, who claimed five scalps, to dismiss Kingston Hawthorn for just 135 runs in the first weekend of the two-day game.
Hannah said he was delighted to be a part of the side and felt the intensity of the step-up as soon as he hit the field.
“It was a really exciting experience to be a part of. I was pretty happy to bowl alongside Paddy Smith too, and to have Warrnambool boys take eight of the wickets was pretty cool,” he said.
“I think we’ll have a few first-class cricketers coming back so I don’t know if I will maintain my spot but we have a good chance of making finals in every grade this year, so that will be my goal.”
