While there are no plans yet, Warrnambool Model Railway Club president Lindsay Bamford said there had been some discussion that Warrnambool could establish a model railway similar to those run at Cobden and Hamilton.
Hamilton Model Railway Group had set up its 7 1/4-inch-gauge ride-on trains outside the St Joseph’s Primary School hall – a first for the exhibition. Large and small scale model trains from across Victoria and South Australia were on display – from a ¾-tonne train to z-gauge trains running on a 6.5mm-wide track.
