Edwina Hayes, Moyne shire, and Daniel Lutz, Glenelg shire, were among 12 recipients announced at a ceremony last week.
Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford said each recipient would receive up to $5000 to support their training in areas such as farming, business and financial literacy, risk management, and product development.
Once studies are complete, they will receive an additional $5000 to put their new skills into practice.
“Attracting the next generation of farmers to a life on the land is crucial to meet the growing demand for high quality, safe produce and improve access to key markets, such as Asia and the Middle East,” Ms Pulford said.
“Our young farmers are the future of agriculture, and our government is getting on with giving them the support they need to increase productivity, efficiency and be the leaders of tomorrow.”
