The WAG has four exhibitions running at the moment, including a show by Academy Award-winning illustrator Shaun Tan.
Tan’s Somewhere Nowhere is a visual portal into the imagination of childhood, where anything is possible and we still believe in “faeries and benevolent flying fat men as confidently as we did footpaths and street signs”.
The Melbourne-based artist won the Oscar for best animated short film in 2011 for the adaptation of his picture book The Lost Thing.
Also on show at the WAG is former Warrnambool artist Jenny Noyes’ Performance On An Egg, Shane Jones’ Unknowing The Real, and Daniel Crooks’ video journey Phantom Ride.
