The Toy Run this year clocked up its 20th year and attracted more than 300 motorcyclists for a ride from Warrnambool to Port Fairy and return for a free barbecue at Lake Pertobe.
Among them was Shannon Warnecke, the daughter of long-time co-organisers Trevor and Bonnie Warnecke.
Ms Warnecke, 21, said she had ridden on the back of uncles’ motorbikes in the ride when she was a child and had taken part as a rider since she was 18. She said she hoped to help more with the run’s organisation in future.
Victor DeBono said his three children took turns in accompanying him on the toy run, with his 12-year-old daughter Jasmyn taking the trip this year.
Mr DeBono said the run had got his children interested in motorbikes.
The riders donated hundreds of toys to fill a truck for the Salvation Army Warrnambool corps to distribute to families in need.
