Homicide Squad detectives have released two people who were arrested following a fatal assault in Warrnambool that is believed to have occurred on Wednesday night.

Emergency services were called to a Suzanne Crescent property just after 1.30pm on Thursday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said paramedics took the man, who had "numerous injuries", to Warrnambool Base Hospital in a critical condition.
The 57-year-old man died at the hospital on Thursday night.
Police believe he died following a "fatal assault" on Wednesday night.
A 44-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, who are believed to be known to the victim, were arrested but were released on Friday night pending further inquiries.
Homicide squad detectives will investigate the death and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
