It’s a buzz word that’s easily thrown away in sports talk, but for Bookaar, it holds the key to opening their account for the summer, according to all-rounder Michael Winzar.
The former Bendigo cricketer said the Pelicans have shown good signs with both bat and ball, but were yet to string it all together.
“We’ve played good cricket in patches, but just haven’t been able to put a whole game together,” he said.
“(Last week) the batting side of it fell into place, but we fell down with the bowling.

“But I think, having had the relative success of making the last two finals, we’re reasonably confident we’ll be able to get there.”
Winzar will be hoping to build on last week’s promising start with the bat when Bookaar hosts Cobden on Saturday. After ducks in his first two outings, he made 35 in the loss to Noorat.
“It would’ve been nice to go on to bat through to the end of the innings and really make a good score,” he said.
“I had a very slow start (to the season) with the bat, been bowling okay but obviously not well enough to get the team result. Probably I’m pretty similar to the rest of the side in that I just need to work on my consistency.”
