The markets, co-ordinated by Port Fairy Community House, are popular with tourists and local residents.
They have been relocated from King George Square in Gipps Street due to the construction of the new wharf complex and will share the Railway Place site with the carnival.
Port Fairy Community House manager Tatiana Resk Wilson said the relocation of the market was timely as the January markets had outgrown the King George Square site.
“The community house had to refuse a substantial number of market stall holders at King George Square as they could not be accommodated on the crowded site,” she said.
“We’re near capacity with stall holders for this summer’s markets at our new locations. We believe keeping the markets in the centre of town is a positive scenario for local businesses.”
She said the community house had applied to Moyne Shire for a temporary road closure of Bank Street between Sackville Street and Gipps Street to manage the pedestrian traffic flow as market customers crossed Bank Street between the two market sites.
