Early in November, Daisy, a 12-year-old Clydesdale-cross mare, was stolen from her family’s property at St Helens. The Hocking household erupted with joy on Tuesday morning when a call came through, informing them that Daisy had been found. A farmer two kilometres away in Yambuk found Daisy wandering in one of his paddocks.
Molly said she was overwhelmed with the news.
“I was in bed when Mum came in and told me. I cried, I was so happy,” Molly said.
“I am so excited. I didn’t think I would get her back.”
The ordeal caused Daisy to lose 100 kilograms but she is expected to recover fully.
