Chris Dickson, 41, of Nicholson Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to five charges of causing criminal damage.
Defence counsel Tony Robinson said his client received severe head injuries in a 1993 car accident and one of his older brothers died.
He said Dickson became fixated on issues and mental health reports were tendered to the magistrate.
Police said that on the night of July 3 Dickson went to the Cobden Football Netball Club and used a red spray paint can to write names.
He went to the Camperdown and then Terang Mortlake clubs painting similar words.
Dickson also attended at the Bacchus Marsh Primary School and a local sports club to commit similar offences.
Total damage caused was $2657 and he was ordered to pay compensation of $722.
Magistrate John Lesser said it was helpful that Dickson had excellent family support and it was hoped he could maintain his strict routine and stay out of trouble.
