THE final round of WDCA one-dayers was a good one for bowlers, with four claiming bags of five wickets. Matthew Petherick’s 5-18 proved vital in Russells Creek’s one-wicket win over Wesley-CBC, as was Luke Gannon’s 5-16 as Merrivale held on to beat Nestles by six runs. Adam Bishop started West Warrnambool’s defence strongly as it went on to defeat East Warrnambool-YCW by 58 runs, while Brad Sheen snared 5-11 as Allansford routed Port Fairy for 48.
