Allansford looks for all-in approach

FIRED UP: Gators captain Ben Boyd wants an even spread of contributors.

ALLANSFORD has already learned the importance of not relying on one or two players to get the job done.

The Gators, who have won their past two Warrnambool and District cricket matches, are hoping to see all 11 pitch in as they try to keep their good form rolling against Port Fairy on Saturday.

“We’ve shown that if we don’t play as a complete team, if we rely on one or two people (it’s not good enough),” captain Ben Boyd said.

“We’ll need a good performance with bat, ball and catching.

“Port Fairy have been good for a couple of years –(Jason) Perera and Aaron (Williams) have been batting well and getting most of the runs, but they’ve got a deep order.

“We’ll have to bowl well the full 45 overs.”

After going six weeks without a win – though there were two washouts in that time – Boyd said the Gators had been bowling to the right areas and now settled their batting order.
