The start of December marks not only the start of summer but the beginning of a series of summer markets in Warrnambool.

Warrnambool’s Civic Green will kick off the season on Sunday when it hosts the first of 10 markets from 9am until 1pm.

With over 40 stalls booked, organisers Kerry Lee and Dianne Brown are hoping the community will use the opportunity to prepare for Christmas.

“We have three pre-Christmas markets starting this weekend, followed by five night markets at Lake Pertobe from December 30,” Ms Lee said.

“This weekend kicks off a fabulous time in Warrnambool. It’s a fabulous signal that summer is here.”

The market season finishes at February’s Wunta Fiesta.
