The Tarrone Recreation Reserve committee has received a grant of $6715 for a bore water pump and casing.
Port Fairy Consolidated Primary School received $3800 for its nurturing room, while the Port Fairy Citizens Band got $2017 for new uniforms. Other grants included Friends of St Brigid’s ($2500 for sound system upgrade), Port Fairy Basketball Association ($2000 for new uniforms), Port Fairy Angling Club ($1135 to restore mural) Koroit Irish Festival ($2500 for construction of merchandise area and signage), Murray to Moyne cycling relay ($2500 for new office equipment), Port Fairy Community House ($720 for kitchen equipment) and Port Fairy Petanque Inc. ($160 to upgrade playing surface).
Chair of Port Fairy Folk Festival grants committee Bernie Waixel said it was very rewarding to fund groups who worked hard to provide facilities and services for the local area.
