Future Energy is planning two three-turbine wind farms – Timboon West on Boundary Road and the Ferguson Wind Farm on Princetown Road, Cooriemungle.
The permit applications are currently with the Planning Minister. The opportunity for public submissions closes on December 7.
If built, the $15 million-plus project will each create enough energy to power about 4000 homes.
Future Energy is planning the $15 million-plus project that will build two three-turbine farms near Timboon and Simpson.
Speaking on the projects earlier this year, Future Energy managing director David Shapero said, if approved, construction would take about six months.
“During construction our policy is to engage as many services and products as possible from the local areas. Of course, the landowner rental payments are an injection of funds into the local community. And additionally the wind farm will be making an annual contribution to the local community,” he said.
