For one day the small community grows more than six times its average size, welcoming more than 3000 patrons to a day of home-made foods, live music and 60 pop-up stalls.
Woodford Primary School principal Daniel Watson said the day was “fantastic” despite the coolness of the weather. He said proceeds would help build a multipurpose, covered area worth $120,000.
“(The parents group and organisers have) nailed down a good recipe, a good formula for the market,” he said. “It’s wonderful.”
Woodford residents and those from surrounding areas said they came for the “great atmosphere” and “a good, fun day out”.
