McLean, who oversees Weir's Warrnambool satellite stable, said Stellar Collision worked impressively at Terang on Tuesday, in his final workout for the $90,000 race over 1000 metres.
“We can't fault Stellar Collision’s condition,” McLean said. “He's had two starts at the Valley for two wins and he's also had two runs over 1000 metres and won them both.
“His first-up record is excellent. He ran fifth in the Wangoom at the Warrnambool May Carnival after being caught in the wrong part of the track. He's a very good sprinter.”
Weir's Warrnambool operation will be represented by seven other runners on the nine-race program.
Ciaron Maher saddles up three runners. Styleman runs in a restricted race over 1200 metres. Hard Romp resumes and Brockhoff gains a starts after being the first emergency in a $80,000 event.
