An open day gave people the opportunity to tour the facility.
Warrnambool Fire Brigade operations officer Paul Marshall said it was a chance for the public to see all of the equipment the station had.
“We invited the community to come have a look at the station and at some of the equipment we have got and see the things we get involved in,” he said.
“We have two tankers, two pumpers, an aerial pumper – which is relatively new to Warrnambool, it came online in April this year – and we also had a rope rescue set up.”
He said the day provided an overview of the work firefighters did.
“In the first hour we had a couple of hundred people through,” Mr Marshall said.
“It’s been a great day in sunny Warrnambool.”
Children pretended to hose down a fire, and there was the opportunity to explore the fire trucks.
The $6.7 million facility on Mortlake Road was officially opened in October.
The complex, which is the base for 27 professional firefighters and about 70 Warrnambool brigade volunteers, is staffed around the clock.
The two-storey station includes a four-bay motor room, eight bedrooms and additional shedding.
