The former Collingwood player will divide his time next season between VFL commitments with Port Melbourne and lining up alongside brother Josh at the Warrnambool and District league club.
Warriors chairman Clinton Baulch said Dwyer, who is still based in Melbourne, would be a major boost for the team.
“It’s pretty exciting to get somebody with AFL experience to the club,” he said.
“He’ll bring leadership and another level of professionalism, and obviously that speed and his goal-kicking ability as a goal-kicking midfielder.
“We’ll be his feder club. He’s worked something out with them (Port Melbourne) to allow him to play as many games as possible with us.
“He wants to play with his brother, Josh. They want to play as many games together as possible (at this stage of their careers).
The South Warrnambool export played 39 games over three seasons in the black and white, before returning to Port Melbourne, where he had played before Collingwood rookie-listed him.
He shapes as a massive inclusion to the Warriors’ midfield in a team which finished runner-up in 2016, going undefeated until the decider.
The 30-year-old played just four VFL games in 2016 after a major hamstring injury sustained during a practice match sidelined him until mid-August.
