It has welcomed a host of division one players to the club and is realising a marked improvement on that of last season.
Dennington president Darren King said the club had been encouraged by solid results in the opening month of play and was simply vying to “win as many games as it could”.
It will face off against fifth-placed Warrnambool White on Saturday.
“Warrnambool are another challenge for us. Hopefully we can win that one and get a few on the board before Christmas,” he said.
“Neville Swanson and Gavin O’Leary have come across as leaders in division one this year, which is fantastic. We’re getting good numbers to training and it’s looking bright for the future.”
Bill Boulton, Mark Brack and Peter Ellis have also joined the club’s division one ranks.
King said a trio of ex-cricketers had also joined the club’s lower ranks.
“We want to keep injecting that youth and hopefully climbing the ladder,” he said.
