COUNCILLOR Jim Doukas will be renominating as Moyne Shire mayor when council meets next Thursday.
Cr Doukas was returned to the shire in a landslide victory with 22 per cent of the primary vote when counting finished Saturday night.
Describing the overall result as pleasing, Cr Doukas said the loss of The Sisters' councillor Bernie Harris was "disappointing".
He congratulated Koroit-based Anthony Keane on his win.
"I'm very happy, Anthony has been a businessman for 25 years, he's a country boy born and bred in Koroit," Cr Doukas said.
However, he warned that six of all seven councillors would now be based in either Port Fairy or Koroit and would need to focus on the needs of rural Moyne communities.
"There's not a lot of representation between Koroit and Peterborough...there's more to Moyne that just townships," he said.
