Ample Investments Group approached the golf club about six months ago with a proposal to undertake the development of the land on the club’s behalf in return for a fee and share of the development proceeds.
Operations manager Trevor Brown said the committee of management voted “overwhelmingly” on Monday night to support the proposal.
“It was a successful meeting with 54 (committee) members there,” Mr Brown said.
“We can now move ahead and sign the agreement and start work.
“Before any bulldozers start work, we will explore pre-selling some of the lots.
“There has already been significant interest.”
He said a marketing campaign for the land could begin as early as next week.
Mr Brown expected development to begin in autumn 2017.
Correction: An earlier version of this story said the club members had voted enter a development agreement. It was, in fact, the committee of management who made the decision.
