Imogen Paton, 19, of Wangoom-Warrumyea Road, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to failing to provide information to police about a driver.
She was not convicted, placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and banned from driving for two years.
Police said that 10pm on June 18 officers attended north Warrnambool after reports of erratic driving.
Officers started tailing a vehicle from Allan Street into Mortlake Road.
The car went through a bottleshop, was being driven slowly and hesitantly but was also being revved loudly.
The driver went through a red light and then accelerated very quickly away from police who terminated a pursuit.
The registered owner of the car was an Allansford man who said he had recently sold it to a woman who told police it was her daughter's car.
Paton said she was a passenger in the car when it was being driven erratically but she refused to identify the driver.
Magistrate Peter Mellas warned Paton that if she drove while banned she faced serious consequences including potentially jail.
