Rosario was in Warrnambool on Friday and Saturday to run sessions for Warrnambool College table tennis academy members and Warrnambool Table Tennis Association juniors.
His visit came not long after he had returned from the Rio Paralypic Games, where he coached a team featuring Hamilton product Melissa Tapper.
“Rio was fantastic. Australia won its first silver medal in 32 years – since 1984,” he said.
“Also, having Melissa Tapper … qualify for both the Olympics and the Paralympics (was great). She’s the first Australian sportsperson to ever do that.”
Rosario, who first started visiting Warrnambool back in his playing days in the late 1980s, gave a presentation at Warrnambool College before moving to the city’s table tennis stadium for sessions with junior players.
“Skills is a big thing, just developing and improving the skill level,” he said.
“And just showing them the pathways that are available through sport.”
