Senior Constable Mark Barby, of Warrnambool police, said in a post on the Eyewatch Warrnambool Facebook page, the money had been claimed.

A great result for the owner of the sum of money handed into the police station last night,” he said. 

“The owner has been identified and has had her property returned.

“A great outcome.”

A GOOD Samaritan has handed in a sum of money to Warrnambool police.

Senior Constable Mark Barby has called for anyone who has lost a sum of money to contact police with the circumstances surrounding the loss.

“If you may have lost a sum of money and are able to outline and verify the circumstances to Senior Constable Barby or our property officer we shall return said property,” a post on the Eyewatch Warrnambool Facebook page reads.

“Return of property is subject to final checks by police.”
