Warrnambool photographer Peta Jolley is working on her third photographic book, DOG 3 Tails of Warrnambool and Port Fairy which showcases the special relationship between a dog and its owners.
“We need ten dogs and their owners to crack the $10,000 raised.” Jolley said.
Families donate $75 to RSPCA Victoria and receive a complimentary photo shoot and feature on two pages in the book.
Jolley said the photos showcased the beauty of the local area and highlighted the joy a dog brought to people’s lives.
The book follows the success of DOG Tails of Warrnambool and DOG 2 Tails of Warrnambool. So far $6450 has been raised for RSPCA Victoria.
The third book has been expanded to include Port Fairy and surrounding towns.
“It’s a great chance to have a family shot with the dog,” Jolley said.
“It’s really good fun. Everything I photograph can’t compare with photographing people with their dogs. With the dog being the centre of attention, people are no longer self conscious and simply have fun,” she said.
The book is due for release in early December.
“First and foremost it’s helping the RSPCA. They only get three per cent of government funding and for the rest they reach out and rely heavily on corporate sponsors. Secondly it’s to showcase the iconic spots of the town, the coast, the wharf and shops,” Jolley said.
