Students from around Warrnambool are set to take part in the event next month, with a host of schools set to contest the fun-based race.
They will be gifted the opportunity to take part in the event as a part of a relay team – with one person competing in each of the legs – or individually.
St Pius year five students Mary McLean, Lilly Sanderson and Lumia Johnstone said they were excited to take part in the triathlon challenge as a part of a team.
“I just like sport and being active,” Sanderson told The Standard.
“I’m doing the swimming. I don’t do it all the time but I do every now and again.”
The event will take place within the Lake Petrobe precinct on November 18.
St Pius physical education teacher Shane Threlfall said the inclusive nature of the event meant students were less daunted by the event.
“It gives students the opportunity to participate, where some might be a bit frightened off by the three legs in a triathlon,” he said.
“When they can just do the one, they have a bit more confidence to compete.”
Teacher Rachel Brown said the event provided the school with an opportunity to continue pushing physical activity as a healthy lifestyle for students.
