As part of a VicHealth initiative, the school’s 196 students are recording walking numbers in a bid to reduce childhood obesity and, hopefully, win a prize.
Last year 165 students walked more than 2000 kilometres and this year’s travelsmart coordinators say their school has a good chance at winning.
Prizes include passes to Warrnambool’s Aquazone, visits from local identities and a bike for the top school.
“This year we are hoping to win the bike,” Millie Lee said.
Grade five and six teacher Ben Logan said the students were already active but the promotion gave them an extra incentive.
