Corangamite Shire said the landslip occurred over the weekend, leading to the closure of one lane and the use of temporary traffic lights.
Corangamite Shire said VicRoads was assessing the situation and there would be updates when available.
Cobden-Port Campbell Road is one of the main links between the coast and hinterland.
Corangamite Shire has repeatedly listed the VicRoads-managed road as one of the worst roads in the shire.
Smythe Street in Skipton has also been closed due to overnight rain.
Other road closures in the shire are:
- Lower Darlington Road, Gnarpurt between Gnarpurt Road and Collins Lane – it will remain closed until repair work can be completed.
- Grists Road - between Linton Road and Lismore-Pittong Road – it will also remain closed until repair work can be completed.
