More than 300 people were reminded of the need to maintain a healthy ocean when Port Fairy Consolidated students showcased climate issues close to their hearts.

‘Oceania’, a study of all things under the sea, presented was the theme for a whole school production.
Teacher Jenny McCarthy said the script for the musical, dance and literary performance was created by a writers group consisting of grade five and six students focused on local environmental issues.
“It was very local-centric,” she said.
“It was a production about their beaches, their erosion and their islands.”
Under the guidance of teachers Maree Stewart and Tracey Gray classes created their individual acts of music, movement, props and costumes.
The worrying issue of ocean plastics was the ‘take home’ message of the production.
King Neptune, (aka) Mark Chapman, made a welcome return as principal after a period of sick leave.
