"I call for a Warrnambool ambassador program to help address this,” Mr Herbert said.
“This inexpensive initiative fits hand in glove with the city wide promotional campaign I have already advocated.
"I propose a promotional campaign involving high profile ex-Warrnambool residents talking about their wonderful experiences here and the opportunities in their home town. They would be real advocates in their areas of endeavour for our city and improve the the profile of the city."
Mr Herbert said economic drivers including the arts, business, education, primary production and sport industries could all have a dedicated, high profile Warrnambool ambassador, who had achieved success in their given field. He suggested DuluxGroup chief executive Patrick Houlihan as a prime candidate to become Warrnambool’s business ambassador.
