Former South Warrnambool midfielder-forward Liam Youl has returned to the club and will suit up in red and white in 2017.
Youl played six games for the Roosters last season, booting five goals – including a third-best on ground effort against Frankston last month.
South Warrnambool coach Mat Buck said it was hoped Youl could provide leadership to the club’s young contingent of stars.
“He’s a quality player and he is still quite young, hopefully he can bring that experience of the top level footy to help the young players,” he said.
“He and James Hussey are two quality people as well and that will only make us better.
“You have to work hard to compete with the top teams and we’ll have to keep doing that over the off-season. ”
