Shire acknowledges councillors' legacy

TWO retiring Southern Grampians Shire councillors have been recognised for their service and dedication.

At a recent dinner to acknowledge councillors Marcus Rentsch and Don Robertson, the council’s chief executive Richard Perry thanked both men for their service to the community.

“During their time on council some outstanding developments and projects have occurred and both have left a lasting legacy in the shire for many years to come,” he said.

Cr Rentsch was first elected to council from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2004 to 2012. He was mayor from 2007 to 2010.

Cr Robertson served on council from 2002 to 2012.

During that time he served two terms as mayor from 2003 to 2005.
