The section of the road from Separation Creek to Wye River was closed to all traffic on Thursday.
The SES advised visitors and residents to be aware landslides could occur at anytime.
SES public information officer Sue Harley said there had been no reports of major road closures in Casterton, Coleraine, Hamilton or Portland.
However, she said the situation could change and more rain was forecast for the weekend.
She said Victoria was escaping the worst of the heavy rainfall which had flooded Adelaide.
