The Kelly J & J agent was recently appointed to the position, replacing Brian O'Halloran & Co agent Anthony Mahony who sat for one-and-a-half years.
Mr Kelly said the presidency was decided on a rotation basis, keeping all Warrnambool agencies under one banner “no matter what company” they represented.
“Every agency gets their turn,” he said. “We like to work together to keep everything together.”
Mr Kelly said it looked as though it would be a good spring for all markets and industries.
“In my opinion, we’re looking at as good a season as we’ve seen for a long, long time,” he said.
“We’ve had a couple of very tough springs but farmers are looking forward to a good, dead-on spring.”
Mr Kelly said prices for cattle and sheep were excellent with prices for dairy cattle continuing to sell as well.
“We’ll have to wait and see,” he said.
