Katherine Pimblett had pleaded guilty of telling Warrnambool police that her former partner had confronted her at a Warrnambool food outlet on January 8 and told her she would not make it to court.
However Senior Constable Paul Harris said Pimblett’s former partner had produced a validated train ticket to show he was not in Warrnambool at the time Ms Pimblett had alleged he was.
There was also no record on the closed circuit television footage at the food outlet of the former partner being present, Senior Constable Harris said. He said Pimblett had later told police she thought making the statement would help her in court.
Magistrate Peter Mellas said Ms Pimblett had come close to perverting the course of justice.
