Experienced dairy advisers have helped more than 150 south-west farmers – almost 700 across the country – to make a budget and identify cost-savings to get them through a tight 2016-17 season.
More than 90 per cent now say they feel confident to survive the low milk-price climate.
Cobden share-farmer Jarrod Meade said he would advise anyone to do it.
“It’s taken the pressure off (knowing) we should be able to make it,” he said.
“(The adviser) turned up and put all the information through… and came up with the figure we needed to break even.”
