The all-conquering Olympic have claimed all the Capital Football silverware this season and will become the first Canberra team to play in the quarter-finals of the FFA Cup when they host Melbourne's Green Gully Tuesday night.

But regardless of the result, the season will go on for Tsekenis and Jeremy Habtemariam, who will join Central Coast Mariners for a week as part of the A-League club's newly-formed capital draft program.

The same is also true for Ben Basser Silk who has been short-listed in the national player pathway award, with the chance to win a two-week trial with Sydney FC's Youth League team.

Tsekenis will drive to the coast with Habtemariam, both 19, on Wednesday. He said opportunities for young footballers in the capital were far greater now because of the the FFA Cup.

"Because we don't have an A-League team it's good to get teams come down to Canberra to pick up some talent and see what they can do and hopefully get noticed around Australia," said Tsekenis.

"The FFA Cup helps with that being broadcast around Australia."

Olympic coach Frank Cachia said he was rapt for the opportunities being presented to his players, which he said had been improved by the success of the team.

"I don't think that it's any coincidence — as well as their own great form — that playing for Canberra Olympic and getting through to this stage of the FFA Cup has opened some doors for them," he said.

"It's a really good story for local products."

Green Gully stunned A-League strugglers Central Coast 2-1 in the round-of-16, but Cachia was confident his troops could continue their fairytale season.

"We're well-prepared and are as confident as we can be going into a quarter-final against a team from Melbourne," said Cachia.

"We're ready. We've had the opportunity to watch their games that have been broadcast as well, so we have a pretty good idea about how they play and how they go about it."

Olympic will be buoyed by the inclusion of veteran keeper and captain Angelo Konstantinou, who has returned from representing Australia at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

"He looked really sharp at training. He had a really good time over there, so I think he will be pretty confident," Cachia said.

Bentleigh Greens face Melbourne Victory in Tuesday's other quarter-final, after Melbourne City and Sydney FC progressed into the semi-finals last week.
