Payne rode the Luke Oliver-trained Birds Of Toyko.
Payne was having her sixth ride back after resuming from the fall on September 11.
She drove Birds Of Toyko to the front in the 1800-metre race.
She then held on to defeat the Darren Weir-trained runners Profit Share and Leica Day.
Birds Of Toyko appeared to get unbalanced and brushed the running rail at the 150-metre mark in the $30,000 race.

Cranbourne trainer Tony Rosolini scooped the pool, winning two of the four jumps on Sunday.
Rosolini was successful with Monte Carlo in a maiden hurdle and Undergroundfighter in the Great Western Steeplechase.
Undegroundfighter enjoyed the drop back in class from the Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat two runs ago, to the Great Western where he defeated About The Journey and Mannertone.
Jumps jockeys Paul Hamblin, Lee Horner, Brad McLean and Martin Kelly shared the riding honours in the four jumps races while five indidivual flat jockeys were successful in the remaining races.
