A CASTERTON man has been committed to stand trial for a double murder and an attempted murder.
Aaron Jamie Ball, 32, of Russels Street, Casterton, pleaded not guilty to the stabbing deaths of Casterton’s Raymond McCombe, Warrnambool’s Toby Lynch and the attempted murder of Casterton’s Stephen Mark.
Earlier today Magistrate Stephen Myall said there was sufficient weight of evidence to support a conviction.
Yesterday Mr McCombe's 16-year-old daughter Jessica McCombe gave evidence at a committal hearing via video link while Mr Ball sat expressionless in the courtroom.
She told the court she saw what looked like Mr Ball hugging Mr McCombe but could tell he was stabbing him.
Miss McCombe said Mr Ball had one arm around Mr McCombe and the other arm was stabbing him in the back.
“I could see him well enough to see he was stabbing my dad,” she said.
